A hand made money box by an Italian WW2 prisoner of war.
This is a superb moneybox made by E Finciroli, an Italian of prioner of war during WW2. It is a money box in the form of a dog kennel with a dog at the front. The dog has a metal collar on and the sides and roof are carved from individual pieces of wood into a rustic log look. The dog is carved from one piece of wood and secured from undernetath with a screw. The base slides forward to release any money inside, looking into the box from underneath there is a blue material over the entrance hole to dampen the coin entry, this material looks like it could be from a blue unifom and can be seen in the photos. Height - 108 mms, Width - 100 mms and Depth - 181 mms.
