A 19th century, lead cast fire mark for the Royal Exchange Assurance company.
A wonderfull lead casting mark, made in the 19th century for the Royal Exchange Assurance company. These marks were used to show that the property it was secured on, was covered for fire protection in the event of needing assistance. They were nailed to the building to hold it in place and this one has a great patina. There are a few dents in the lead and a small crack across the crown and has not been detached at any point. It weighs 0.46 kgs. Height is - 223 mms, Width is - 106mms and it is 3 to 4 mms thich.
